OMG!!!!! FIRE HAZARD!!!

I can't believe it! One of my house mate's uncles decided to take pity and give her a SPACE HEATER!!!  Her room if fill to the brim with trash, dirty close, and junk. There is NO space for a SPACE HEATER! Every surface, even the floor you walk on is covered!!! And there are only 'pathways' between hills of stuff!  I'm grabbing the fire extinguisher from the kitchen and moving it to my door. Thankfully our smoke alarms are ultra sensitive and new, and we know they work. The one time the house furnace did kick when I turned it on this year it set off the smoke alarms.

More roommate woe

Hope you don't mind me sharing my woe as you understand. Can't post in my lj as roommate might read... Stupid apt. complex tells us *today* that tomorrow they will be inspecting all units (renovations coming). I work graveyard shift, won't be getting much sleep today as I'll have to be up when they come. WAY too embarrased to be seen in this pig sty, so I had to come home from work and do dishes, wash floor, clean counters... At least get it looking semi-decent. My room is cluttered-- since the whole apt. is almost floor to ceiling w/her shit all over the place, and I have to get permission before I put anything in the living room, almost everything I own has to fit into a TINY bedroom. But it's clean. Very stressed out right now. Hope your roommate troubles are a bit better now.

You poor thing! Yeah I would make your room the cleanest place in the house. So even if they get the impression that you might be a slob too as soon as they see your room compared to hers... they'll see where the blame falls. That's kinda what has happened with me a lot too. Though her mother knows her daughter is a slob, seeing the stark contrast is like watching a horror show on her face. I hope it all goes well. We're possibly going to get real floors next summer, and not concrete. That is what is planned anyways by the landlord. So we'll be having our own renovations in a sense. You have my full support!
