Uh oh...

Yesterday the mother of the two kids I'm watching was in an accident when she was on her way to pick up her kids from program, so I had to take the kids home. I had an unexpected day off because of it, she's find but car not safe to drive, so I don't know if I'll be working Monday on this extra job... I kinda need to money because I have not had any luck finding a job in the afternoon-early evening hours to follow my summer term class in July. I also need the money because I was hoping to get a plushie, which I just remember since I have been leaving the house at 7:30am and collapsing home near 7pm at night, to snuggle when my surgery date rolls around. Now its all in question. I have no doubt I'll be working for the mother next week, I am just unsure which days until stuff can be hashed out and she is able to get a rental. I spent this day being lazy as hell so I can't be Sat or Sun, must dog about 8 loads of laundry, pack up food stuff (I found rat poop) into plastic bins for a while, lay out traps in the garage and ready the house to bring in Mika for a while (because of said rats) on top of all the normal cleaning and then some. x.x

I ran out of kitty food yesterday and Miss Mika was not a happy little shit. She got half of her normal dinner and no breakfast until I ran to the pet store with Yoko at 1pm. Oi.

Yoko's foot is doing great, and the past two days I've allowed her free run of the backyard for the first time since her accident. She's not gonna be happy with me though, I GOT HER BOOTIES!!! LOL, the ground gets so hot even now when we haven't hit summer temps that I didn't resist getting her booties to take her for walks when it starts to get dark. Texas heat sucks and she's going to give pitiful looks for some time to come but she needs to loose some pounds and I need to start walking at least a few miles a couple times a week now that I don't have my racquetball class to exercise.

Work is getting beyond hectic. We found out which one of my kinders has been peeing all over the bathroom and he got busted good. The custodian had just cleaned the boy's bathroom in the cafeteria and he was the first one in and he even dropped poop on the floor. oi. Also this week on Thursday is our water field day, and for the next few days to come I'll be filling water balloons in a cooler for work. 1-5th will have massive water balloon fights, my kinders will be paying in a sprinkler set.

I'm currently waiting for it to cool down in about 5 hours to go clean out my car. Till then I'm doing laundry and the normal lazy cleaning (when I should really be overhaul cleaning).

Mika bath

Mika had her first bath in about six or more months, lol she is not a happy cat. I usually don't bath her but with how the weather has been I couldn't past up the chance. Its in 70's today and we're not expected to get another cold front till Tues. Its more hygienic to give indoor cats baths at least once a month because of the chemicals from kitty litter and frankly, even with the best litter and robotic kitty box they'll start to smell like litter. Mika is an outside cat but I do it anyways ever so often for her coat, she'll most likely need another bath in a month or two after I see people stat on their lawns comes spring, just depends. I'll be doing the dogs next when the dryer finishes, I only had two pet towels clean and needed both from Mika. Yoko usually takes 3 towels and Lucky about 4.

Argh, I just can't get a break!!! My vet decided to start a new policy. And say's I'm the inspiration. argh. $5 for every new prescription order called in to an another pharmacy, the net in my case. $3 for every refill. The reason I'm doing it only so I can save up to $50 a month on the stupid shit so that $50 goes toward the pet insurance for all three of my pets. Damn it.

-head hits desk-

Am I going to have to switch vets that I use to order meds now?

I go there as is for single does of their heartworm and flea protects every month, I can't afford to get a six month pack for them right now. That's like... almost $60. Isn't my $60 to them that way enough? jeez. thanks dude.

Its just... so freaking annoying. If the meds weren't cheaper where I order them now I wouldn't be going it.

She's lost weight, but she's eating. They took blood and the results came back good. its just... bizzar. Next week I'll take her in again to be weighed, if she continues to loose weight they want to do x-rays and ultrasound. OI. Even though 80% will be covered by the insurance, I have to pay it first, then file a claim, and wait for a check to come to me. I still need to filed her visit from Friday... oi.

Mika safe

She's with me, although this puts a burden with the timing. My cusion had put bags of kitty litter in the garage to 'absorb mositure', argh. I can't put her in there because of that and because of the holes in the dry wall, I don't need her getting stuck or to the rat posion thrown in the walls. Oi. Hopefully I can fix this by tomorrow night....

Well, I'm $78 shorter. I rushed her to vet after school. She had an abscess, how no idea. We thought it was a broken toe, which you really can't do anything about, until the vet found a little scab. Once she removed it from the top of foot puss gushed out. A LOT of it for her small foot. Poor thing. She got a pain shot and anti-biotics for the next week. I'm worried I'm eventually going to have to give her up for adoption because Lucky's health bills are starting to really get up there each month. I can't give up Yoko. So its a depressing thought. I have forty minutes to unwind before leaving for work, I'll be clocking in at 1:30 today, joy.
nova_myth: (Kitty Jazz)
Mika is limping. She doesn't want to put weight on her left front leg. I felt it and I couldn't find any sore spot but her foot. Because she's declawed she's more prone to injuries there with time because the claws are part of their structure. I'm driving to school today, again, oi gas. This time because I want to get a double shot latte from starbucks on the drive to school. The one next to my bus drop off looks to be opening maybe next month if they get staff trained. They're putting stuff up in the interior and all and the outside is completely done with the acception of parking spaces. My bus does pass one on the way to school, but I'd have to get off and wait an hour for the next bus. Not possible with traffic and all.

So I'm going to put Mika under house arrest, and see how she does. She'll sometimes walk on it, limping, other times hobble around on three legs.  My housemate was a grouch yestrday when I told her not to let her out, but she saw me looking over Mika's leg over again while the dogs were outside and showed concern. I don't want to have to use my first full paycheck for this school year on my cat! I have so many other expenses right now. Oi. That's why I'm waiting and going to see how she does over the weekend. I don't feel anything broken, she's just not liking me touching it, but not realing in pain.

I caught Yoko and Mika in an adorable moment!  Usually if I try to capture this they move or stop, but not this time! >:D

nova_myth: (Prime for President)

I actually woke up before my alarm today (YES!) thanks to Yoko who had to go outside for business and a Starbucks Frapuccino from the fridge. The key will to have a repeat tomorrow. I spent the morning fighting to stay away, check e-mail, and be a normal lazy college student, with the exception of not being asleep.

So eventually I got ready, took care of the dogs, locked up, and went to the bus stop at the end of street. Why is this mentionable? My bus was actually on time! And my bus arrive at just the right moment for me to hop on another bus heading toward school instead of the normal 15 minute walk from my stop. It was already over 90 degrees so I got on the bus instead of getting exercise, lol. My city's bus system may be pathetic, but they are smart enough not to skimp on the Air Conditioning! Even with a full bus its usual very cool (that can't be said for other people's body odor sometimes).

Anyways, I get to campus and get in line at the admissions and records line to get my class schedule. What I find really messed up is when you walk in there is "Information Center" on the sign pointing down the hall but you can't find it... like it disappears after that, maybe its like Platform 9 and 3/4 and you got to know what wall to walk through to find it. So I get my class schedule, and head to the bookstore. They change the layout some what again... oi. With a few minutes being ignored I found the only book I need, my history book, and checked out. I had originally thought the time from arriving on campus to getting the book would take an extra half hour... it didn't and I walked to the campus radio station, KSYM 90.1, to meet up with my friend Patrick.

So I walk in and at first I thought there was a mistake, it looked empty. I hesitantly go into the office and then I see him through the studio door. I knock, having no clue but assuming I'm not allowed into the studio but he brings me in and I sit down. After a few times he goes on the air he comes up with the idea of me being a 'guest' from high school and putting me on the air. Its a while before he goes on again, and we're talking and I was going through bands. KSYM only plays Alternative music, so I start to list off artist I could remember (which is a miracle) and hit one that is. He goes to the library and pulls out the disks of Muse. I selected Knight of Cynodia, which I missed pronounced, on the air because I had no idea how to say it >.< Patrick found it funny and made a nice joke of it (glad to be of service :p ). So we're talking and he comes up with the idea  again, he has to broadcast the current weather conditions before the end of his time on the air waves and drafts me into. I was to give the current and projected temps, so I said, "Hello again, its currently 97 at the KSYM studio with a projected high of 99." We bantered slightly on that and when he introduced the next song by a japanese artist.

Afterwards we went out for lunch and hung out before he drove me home considering I had taken the bus and we weren't anywhere near my route in the end of things. So it was an interesting and fun day, I'm thinking about going down to campus again but earlier to hang out with Patrick, even if I don't go on air again. The question if I wake up early and can get my butt in gear to get to campus, lol.

I went to the wash house, finally washed my blankets and jackets and that chore is over. So in all, I say a good day. At the moment Mika is being...

Odd )

... Yoko is doing her best to ignore her and nap...

I swear my  life everyday is nothing more than a kiddy coaster. Yesterday's highlight was one of the students gave me a Transformers book. -ghasph- Yep, a movie book on the autobots and decepticons. Nothing much but its got full front photos so I have great views of their details. The down note today is apparently my cat got in another fight, last one I think in Jan. Her ear is chewed up, again, I even think its the same one as last time. For being declawed and in a fight with that the only wound shows just how tough she is. She's not at all happy with me. I had to hold her by the scruff and clean it with one hand, sadly I'm well practice at this from dogs and cats. She is also under house arrest for the next three days , at least, so it will heal properly. She's going to howling in a few hours, I just know it.

nova_myth: (Bee)

She's bringing me 'gifts'. She didn't do that when I lived in North Texas!!!! At first it was a lizard, dead of course. I'm like, well shit, because I know cats do this sometimes. But what make me want to throw up is today when I was leaving the house I find another lizard and a song bird. Both long dead, EW. I am angry about the song bird, I think I'm going to have to 'try' to have a talk with my housemate about trying to keep her indoor all night till mid morning. Song birds are usually caught and killed in early morning hours when they're singing.

At the same time I can't be angry with my cat, she is a cat. And just goes to show how good of a hunter she is, she's declawed after all. And yet my brain automatically tries to figures how she caught and killed.... ::shudders:: >.<

nova_myth: (Bee)
My cat is way too laid back. She's not fat but she's just way way too relaxed. Hell, not even fresh catnip will get her moving. She'll sniff, maybe rub once or twice but then leaves it alone. But the funny thing is she is a really, really big cat. Bigger than my house-mate's dog who is overweight and weighs more than she does. But the fact is too, he's a freaking coward with a capital C emphasis and underlined. My house-mate has this little round bed for him in the kitchen under the broken table next to one of my dog's kennels. Things is, ever since I brought Mika home she's been in it more often than him! And I'll walk in and usually find him staring at her or laying a towel or something that fell down from the kennel my house-mate left on it. Its so funny. Never mind she's de-clawed, she'll give him "I ain't moving buster" look and nod back off to sleep. Mika 37, Bruiser 0.

I was getting the mail from yestrday and my cat walks up, meowing pitifully. I didn't think anything of it till she walked pasted me and I saw the back of her right ear. The fur is gone and there is a weird wound on it. Not a puncture mark from a fight or anything. Nothing else seems wrong so I'm baffled and angry. Sadly my city is fighting big time on animal cruelity. Its just now starting to make laws and had one cruelity investigator for the entire city. I don't know if someone hurt her or if she did something stupid. She's use to the country, not the city.  Poor Mika, she's not even black from crying out loud.
