Lightening Strikes!!!
Feb. 8th, 2009 10:09 amI just had an insane idea for work, sparked when playing with Yoko to get her toy.
For fun Friday in a week or two, the kids have to bring two toys. They have to be small and appropriate for school. They don't get to play with them, nope. They need to make a story with the two character, draw it out on several pieces of paper, then tell the story to the class. If everyone behaves and gives their story, then they can have free play. Though I am for sure going to catalog who brought what toy.
And I will make an example with my TF toys, since the kids are itching to see them. I don't think they believe me on having one, much less 23. :3
If they behave, follow the assignment, I'll see about doing it every other friday, but with 3 or 4 toys.
Whatcha think? Mouse, I am most curious you think.
I can't do it this Friday because they have early release and I have training, plus a v-day party thurs. Which I bought special V-day cards, TFA that come with little tattoos, 35 in all, and I have 20 kinders, so I am gonna have at least one left over of all the characters!

Honestly, I think you'd be better off going to a dollar store or a thrift store and getting a bag of plastic toys and then distributing them. But you can try it. Have a basket that they have to put the toys into and yes, document who brought what.
I do like the idea of you bringing in TFs to demonstrate, but don't be surprised if you get two or more kids asking if they can 'borrow' your toys for their story. Decide now if you're going to allow it, and know that they won't value them the way you do. If you decide 'no', stick to that very hard and put them away or up high so the kids can't get to them.
Best of luck to you?
