My internet is gone....

Well I no longer have my broad band internet and neither does my house-mate. WHY? Because we had internet with Time Warner, and my landlord had gotten a one year promotion for phone, internet and basic TV for $99 plus taxes a month. It just jumped $60 with the year up, so the internet has but cut. My landlord isn't willing to pay it anymore that expensive because my house-mate isn't making enough right now to pay her half (as if she ever was paying her half). All I know is I warned my house-mate about this and my landlord too. BUT NO, no one listens to me. Bleh.

So now I'm buming off someone else's unsecured wireless. Meaning I can't do much without risking my info getting seen by someone else, joy. -.-' And I got gift certificates I got to order for friend's birthdays, damn it. OI. No to mention school. I'm gonna talk to the landlord tomorrow, and if she looks to not be getting internet again I'll go see AT&T who I have my cell with and what their internet is, how much it is, and what it will cost to get it installed, because it will be in my room ONLY, ha. 

But thats just talk right now, I got to see what's gonna happen and do figures, joy... x.x

I couldn't believe it when I read the title of your entry! We really are living in some freaky parallel universes to each other! AT&T has DSL starting at $19.95 a month. That's what I have, but I opted to go faster so I'm paying around $32. Don't know what if anything they'd charge for "installation" (I got phone service too). Check the AT&T website -- when I signed up they had an online special, a rebate for the modem making it free. Of course then you'll need to get a router if you want to stay wireless. I'm plugged in right now, but want to get one soon since I got used to being unplugged. Anyway, so far I love AT&T. My ex-roommate had Earthlink -- now there was a nightmare! It shouldn't take you long to get up & running again, I had my service a week after ordering. Good luck!

Well here's the kicker. The Internet is back. My housemate harassed the landlord, because there was some dispute of what was going on. The whole thing was a package deal, internet, phone and TV for the price but only the TV was working. I'm not holding my breath. We might have it for another few hours, a few days or weeks but the chances are slim its gonna stay a month. The contract should be up this month if remember right. Its just a matter of how much harassment my landlord can take from my housemate, "Oh woes is me, I don't have my internet, how will I go on?" That sort of shit, I can tell you. I'm gonna try to hold out 2 months before I go to At&T because there is very good chance the harassment will get the internet back, but with whom? Till then I can bum off unsecured servers, school, and my friend's wireless when the net does go for good by this contract. She has to go to the library, and it can take hours waiting by list and its times. HA.

I think the reality of the situation is that she *will* get her mommy to pay for keeping the internet, judging by past behavior so you probably don't have too much to worry about. Heck, $20-some a month isn't that much for peace of mind of NOT having her daughter harassing her.
