Well, apparently there isn't anything wrong, persay, other than what we already knew. Arthrist in his knees. The vet took x-rays of his spine and other than a few small things, look very well for his age with no real problems to be seen. He was just sore from laying down so much. So he's got a suppliment and a new exercise regimen from the vet.

The suppliment is twice a day for 6 weeks then down to once a day after that. The exercise regimen will be the problem. The vet wants me to walk him 4 times a day for 10 minutes and maybe 15 before bed to loosen up his muscles and joints. I can't do 4 times, and its going to be hard to do 3. I know I can do two times, once after school before work and once I get home from work. I seriously doubt I can walk him before I go to school.

The grand total for the day? A bunch of stress and $176 vet bill on my credit card. The vet did talk about maybe considering surgery to go in and clean out the arthrist, it looked a good choice for him. But I have to know a lot before I can make that decision. If he's got an estimate 6 to a year left persay, I don't want him spenind a quarter of that or more in recovery from the surgery. I'll bring it up again in a few months when I take him in for blood work because of his meds. I'm going to have to put the regular refill of meds and Revolution on my card too at the beginning of next month, oi.

I haven't heard back from my teacher, so I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing....

I haven't eaten at all and I'm hungry. My cusion better not pull out on treating me to lunch at the last minute or I am going to be very unhappy.

I'm feeling good about my poor old man, even though his legs keep giving out from under him right now. The meds will take a few more days and weeks to go into full effect but I now know he's looking good in areas we feared his breed would bring health problems. Just money I'm not happy about, oh well, life as usual.

On another good note: He was a very good dog, He didn't need to be sedated like most when x-ray both this time and last week. The vets are awed by him.
