First day of the summer job...

nova_mythIt wasn't too bad. The only correction I had that I haven't had to correct more than one child at a time was they all kept trying to talk my ears off. LOL, I've only had that happen with one kid a day when I previously was with kinder, but then again I wasn't on my own. Only half or so showed up yestrday. I have a total of 12 right now... >.>? I'm like, okay I like that number, but where did the twenty figure they gave me earlier come frome <.<? Oh well, 4 of the kinders are from my school, three I know from the after school program. The only other corrections I had to make were the boys, running around when I'm talking or trying to catch some Zzs. One boy clonked out cold for more than half the period. Luckily he was from my school and his older brother was in the program and I asked him to try and see if he got to bed on time.
The only problem was parents started dropping students off way to early, and I wasn't able to get all my supplies. Today I'll need to go in about 45 minutes early, not the 30 I had planned, because I got selected to clock in 15min early to deal with this problem. Tomorrow it will be another girl and we will alternate. Its an extra half hour total into my paycheck each week. Its not much, but with how things are, I'll take it. I didn't do two the things I was suppose to do with the kids yestrday, but since it was first day I'm told its okay. But today its going to be hard. The time got eaten up by the restroom break, most of the bathrooms are not stalled. In a 700 student body elementary school there are only a few stalled bathrooms, everything else is single... weird, no?
But I'm not happy with the supervisor who is incharge of the location. She's gave us backpacks, which barely carry the misc supplies like sissors, glue, markers, ect. The crayons are in a big plastic box I have to carry in my arms, the case doesn't fit in the bag. I have to carry a book to read, dozens of copies for the lessons in and other supplies in yet another back I brought because what was supplied isn't enough. My back and legs hurt already at the end of day one, I'm dreading how I'm going to be feeling by the end of the week.
